Product Warranty and Returns Information

POLICY OVERVEIW AND MONEY BACK GUARANNTEE:

Rest assured all of the products we offer for sale are backed by a satisfaction guarantee. All new products, to include new optical devices, are covered by a factory warranty which is normally good for one year after the initial purchase. We stand behind these products so you can be confident of their operation and performance. Although every item is inspected before shipping (and we have an excellent record for products that operate as advertised), in very rare cases there may be a problem encountered or missing items which we will be glad to correct or replace. We have not had a single customer who has been refused service for any reported defects, period. This is an indication of the importance we place in making sure each purchase is satisfactory.

Most of the products we sell via the Collector's Choice section are in new condition and are covered by a factory warranty. Due to the fact that these items are made in Russia, we realize it is an inconvenience to our customers to deal directly with the manufacturer on warranty issues. Therefore, we will do our best to taken care of any needed repairs "in house" except in the case of electronic faults which we have no ability to repair here. Our policy is very liberal, but to protect ourselves from misunderstandings of any kind, it has now become necessary to set ground rules for these types of problems.


SHIPPING DETAILS AND TRACKING CONFIRMATION:

All orders are normally shipped within 24-48 hours after receipt of the transaction, if not sooner. This does not include weekends or holidays when we are closed for business. Also, due to the heavy volume of e-mails and orders we receive, there could be a one day delay in the shipping of certain specialty orders because of our strained schedule. If there is any unscheduled delay after the transfer of funds, the customer will be immediately notified and given the option to make a substitution, place the item on back-order or receive a complete and immediate refund.

As long as the customer has supplied a current and working e-mail address with their letter or online payment, a USPS Delivery Confirmation number will be sent via e-mail by both us and the USPS system when the purchase is processed. This number can be tracked at www.USPS.com and can be sued to verify the shipping date, successful delivery, and also if the package is still in transit. If the postal service confirms the package has been delivered to the location given provided by the customer, responsibility for the package then rests with the recipient.

International shipping requests must be made in advance. Shipping charges must be estimated before the order is made, to ensure adequate funds are provided and the method of shipping is agreed upon. Once international orders leave the country of origin, we are not responsible if they are lost, stolen, or held otherwise. However, if they are returned to us in good condition we will be glad to refund the customer, minus any shipping costs or fees we have incurred.

We do not normally insure any packages, unless asked to do so by the purchaser. Please request insurance if you feel there is a need to do so. Lost insured mail can only be reported (and an official trace filed) after it has been missing for more than 30 days.

All mail is considered successfully received if the USPS online tracking service reports it was delivered to the address provided to us by the customer, as shown on our receipts. Packages are scanned at the time of delivery, and we must take the word of the postal service. if any packages scanned as delivered are missing, it is the responsibilty of the customer to contact their local postal department for information on it's location. As long as the package was properly mailed to the correct address, and the USPS system reports it was delivered to that address, we have done our part. Stolen or lost mail at your location is not our responsibility.


DELIVERY OBLIGATIONS:

Upon delivery, we advice the customer to inspect the product for any defects in workmanship, damage, or missing items such as rubber accessories, manual, batteries (if supplied), etc. If anything is not included, please contact us by e-mail as soon as possible, at least within five working days from the time of delivery. We will immediately ship the missing items, or replace the entire order for you according to the defect found, if any. If we do not receive notification within 5 days, we will assume that the items were in satisfactory condition, with all advertised accessories included, and no defects or damage were found upon initial inspection. Any defects, damage or missing items reported after this five day period is not covered under this policy.

Specialty, rare, or surplus collectibles are sold "as is" and will not be covered under this policy. Due to low availability, we do not have the ability to replace specialty items which may be found to have minor defects.

Also within this time, if the customer decides he does not find the product to be as advertised, or in some way the product is not satisfactory, we will be glad to offer an exchange for another model.

Alternatively, a refund can be made in most circumstances, but it will be subject to shipping charges and credit card fees. Any refund requests which is not associated with defects or faults on the part of the product (or return requests made after the initial 5 day inspection period) will be subject to a 20% restocking fee if we grant permission for their return.

Additionally, any special orders or quantity orders over $600 which are refused delivery due to the recipient's lack of action, or returned without prior authorization from us will be charged an additional 25% restocking fee to cover our added expenses generated by having to order large amounts of excess products which will sit in inventory and tie up our limited capital.


PERFORMANCE DEFECTS:

OPTICS WARRANTY PERIOD:

For one (1) year after delivery of the items, we will personally do our best to provide warranty service for the optics we sell on this site. This includes any defects caused by workmanship, or those caused by defective materials that do not hold up in a satisfactory manner under normal use. This does not include damage caused by improper use, handling, breakage, or other types of abuse. This warranty will not cover broken lenses, mis-aligned internals, and other types of damage that are indicative of neglect or abuse, such as impact damage.

Electronic problems cannot usually be corrected at our location, and therefore our responsibility to repair or replace them "in house" will be limited to a 60 day period. After this period, any repairs will have to be performed by the factory and will be the responsibility of the customer.

We reserve the right to either replace or repair any item under our "in house" warranty peroid, according to our ability and limitations, or refer the customer to the manufacturer for extensive electronic or mechanical repairs. In the case where the item is obsolete or out of stock, we might also request a suitable time frame for a replacement, or a direct trade for an alternate product(s).



POST-WARRANTY REPAIRS:

After the one-year in-house warranty period, we can still help provide repair on many items we sell but at a cost to the end user. Any details concerning a specific possible refurbishment of older products will be determined directly via e-mail.

LIMITED LIABILITY:

By using this web site or by purchasing products available on this web site, you agree that the maximum liability of this store, its owners, directors, officers, employees, agents and affiliates arising from or in connection with any product sold on this web site shall not exceed the price of such product. You are also agreeing to the terms and conditions we have stated here that pertain to warranty and customer responsibilies.
